Puppy swimming game

The imagination and creative play with these kids has exploded and I can't help but listen, gather information, and ask questions.

Nearly every day Eligh asks the girls if they want to play the puppy swimming game.

I finally had to ask him and Addyson what this game is all about.

After several questions I have gathered the following:  Eligh is a puppy, more specifically Paws.  He is to pretend he is swimming, but only in his dress up clothes (Lightning McQueen outfit to be precise), as his dress up outfit is his swimsuit.

I then asked the two of them if Paws (the real dog) should go swimming in a dress up outfit.  At first they all said no, and then begged that we buy Paws an outfit so he can go swimming.

So, when your kids are bored and need an activity, have them play the puppy swimming game.  (Not that it really makes any sense)

Beer - age three

Mommy:  "Eligh, do you like your juice?" (It was a new juice flavor)
Eligh;  "Yep, this beer is good."
Mommy:  "Eligh, it's juice, not beer."

Later in the day....
Eligh:  (pretending he was a customer at a restaurant) "Addyson, can you get me a beer, please?"
Addy:  "Yep....coming right up."
Mommy:  "Enough, with the beer!!!!"
Eligh:  "Yes, mommy."

This evening they were pretending to drink while watching a movie.  Can't have cups in the living room, so they brought in play kitchen cups and were sipping on them.
Mommy:  "Eligh, what are you drinking in your cup?"
Eligh:  "Beer....it's delicious!"

I'm screwed...........................

***I would like to add.  Cody drinks beer on the weekends every once in a while, so I have no idea where his obsession with beer has come from.

Closing a busy weekend with....

Overly tired, worn out, whiny children who fell asleep ten minutes after their heads hit the pillow.

How are you closing out your weekend?

Friday Night Leftovers - rain dance

  • This week I babysat my neighbor's 11 year old daughter for part of the day.  I didn't realize that I still had to some what entertain an 11 year old.  On a side, she thought our house was huge (it's the exact same layout as her house, but well, mine is organized).
  • Cody had off Wednesday and today, but worked the days in between and tomorrow as well.  I enjoy a mid week day off, but a couple days off in a row for him would be more enjoyable.
  • He did manage to wash both vehicles.
  • I took the old bike for a ride and it was awesome, totally reminded me of my carefree youth.  So, today I rode my bike with the kiddos riding along as well and daddy walked and helped out the stragglers.
  • To help combat the days we take a break from the water I picked up some more crafty activities and they haven't stopped asking to do them.  Which would be fine and dandy if they didn't have me going balls to the walls from sunup to sundown.  I'm hoping for a rainy day soon.  Might have to learn a rain dance to speed up the process.
  • T-ball season has been hit or miss as the practices have been cancelled for two weeks due to heat, tomorrow she has a game and then a make up game next week and we are done for the season.
Stop by our host, Danifred, an offer up some ice or rain as she too is dealing with insanely hot temperatures.

Recap on the 4th - the antisocial year

This year we decided that we wanted to skip having or joining others in a picnic and just do what we as our own little family of five wanted to do and it couldn't have been any more perfect.

I woke up with a horrible migraine and severe nausea (I got up, went back to bed, and didn't come downstairs until 10 am - this has NEVER happened).  While I was dying, Cody took the kids to get doughnuts - they were ecstatic.

After lunch, we headed to the pool.  Our neighbors and one other family joined too.  To our surprise it was completely free yesterday - SCORE!  Our neighbors and friends left after the first hour.  We, stayed until they shut it down for the day - three hours.  Kids had a blast.

We bathed the kiddos, split up and conquered some quick grocery shopping.

Cody cooked steaks on the grill and I boiled some corn on the cob.

We headed to our friends house to enjoy a drink and let the kids play for about an hour and left to find a good spot for the fireworks show.

This was our first year as family going to see fireworks.  We typically put our kiddos to bed during the  fireworks, plus they do NOT like loud noises.  We were nervous.

We ended up parking a good ways away, found a PT platform (what drill sergeants stand on when yelling at the privates), put some blankets down and watched the sun set.  Cody and Kinsley went to the fair and brought back some popcorn and cotton candy.

Everyone did great with the fireworks.  Addy was the only one that covered her ears in the beginning, but we were able to get her to relax and enjoy the show.  If we would have sat closer to the action I am sure it would have been a different story.  It took us three minutes to get home and all three had fallen asleep.  They were beyond beat and actually slept in.  The twins wok up at 7:30 and Addy an hour later at 8:30.

This may be the best fourth of July we have had yet.

Talking Tuesday - Flies Fart

Eligh:  "Flies can fart dragon flies and waspez."

Kinsley:  "Mommy, I didn't poop in my panties, it's just my Oreo."

Addyson:  (climbing into mommy's lap) "Mom, you have too many freckles on your leg, they hurt me." (Guess I needed to shave.)
