Friday Night Leftovers - drinks it is

  • This has not been a good week.
  • Stress levels through the roof.
  • I had three days of PTA madness.
  • Addy had her first dance team (different than regular class) practice.  At some point the little gum drop will have to learn the routine without assistance.
  • Kinsley got her referrals lined up for the cardiologist and pulmonologist; one is next week the other in October.
  • I got back on the treadmill this week and hope to at least exercise three times a week more regularly.
  • Follow up from my vein procedure was a ten minute conversation and check of the leg.  All is well.
  • I had meet the teacher night last night, and Addy did not say one word to the teacher.  But, when we got home she said she was so excited to go to school.  Less than a handful of days left until we send her off.  Sigh.
  • With all that happened this week, drinks with some ladies are awaiting me this evening and it can't come soon enough.
  • May you all enjoy your last weekend of summer.  We have quite a bit planned and I am hoping it goes slowly as I am a ball of nerves sending my oldest to school.

Friday Night Leftovers - Volunteering

  • Eleven days and we will be sending off to all day Kindergarten.  Freaking out on so many levels.
  • This week was draining.
  • Apparently, Eligh is one talented little boy.  He was able to drain his own ears from an ear infection.  But, the cold symptoms are still lingering.
  • Addy and Eligh have started soccer practices, which are two days a week.  Poor Addy is one of two girls on the team.  But, Addy is really loving soccer.  Eligh is adjusting and hopefully when this cold goes away he will be able to put forth all of his energy.
  • I am not only volunteering with the PTA, but some how I am also the fundraising coordinator.  The drama of this group of women, in the three meetings we have had thus far is beyond anything I could have ever imagined.
  • The highlight of the week for my three were the arrival of cowboy/girl boots and matching hats from Grandma.
  • The girls have a birthday party tomorrow and next week we add in dance practice, PTO meetings, meet the teacher night, doctor appointments, and more soccer practices.
Stop by our host, Danifred, and give her a sprinkle of extra time.

Friday Night Leftovers - ache

  • I swear medical issues are a constant topic in my life.
  • I went in for my annoying back pain this week and left with some meds (not working at all) and a referral to the physical therapist which is another week+ away.  Sleeping hurts and I wake up with my arm/hand completely numb or tingling, but once awake and moving again that part goes away.  Solution - never go to sleep.  What do you think?
  • I have been pricing and getting ready for a yard sale and really hope we get some traffic as I have TONS of stuff (especially kid toys) to get rid of.
  • Cody needs to replace pretty much everything inside the grill, so we went to price everything out and then debated buying a whole new grill since it was pretty much the same cost.  But, then, since I'm a woman I did some research and called the company directly and got some of the products completely free and also saved TONS buying directly from them vs. a store.  Men, they don't know squat.
  • The kids missed Paws terribly when we returned from our overnight water park adventure Sunday.  I teased the twins by picking him up after we dropped Addy off at school just so we could drive a mile to get him groomed.  I didn't want to bring him home all nasty.  He's home, clean, and well loved.
  • A side note to my neighbor.  It's 9 pm, your one year old is crying non-stop, hello----it's way past her bed time.  PUT HER TO BED and let the poor thing sleep!
  • I want a baby.
  • I won't have another.
  • I'm aching.
Stop by Danifred, to spew your week's thoughts.

Friday Night Leftovers - Addy's birthday week

  • Easter was great and we really enjoyed having the extra guests over.
  • We got a new couch and ottoman this week and switched our toy room and living rooms.  Kids now have a massive toy room and the living room is now much smaller and feels more grown up.
  • I still can't put my head around having a now FIVE year old.  How did this happen?
  • Her cake tasted even better than it looked - for serious.
  • I sold the old sectional and it is now out of the house.  Phew.
  • I went to the store too many time this week.
  • One of those trips involved buying new curtains and now I have to take them all back, because I hate them.  Oh, and this is after I ironed them and hung them up already.
  • I have also learned that Kinsley cannot and will not play by herself.
  • This week has been so busy with Easter, Easter clean up, Addy's birthday, and our trip away tomorrow.  Yet, I didn't find any time to get to the gym at all this week.  Not good at all.
  • I cannot wait until tomorrow.  The kids are jumping out of their skin with excitement, too.
Stop by our host, Danifred, to spill your random weekly thoughts.

Friday Night Leftovers on Saturday

Sorry Danifred that I'm a day late.  It was one of "those" evenings.

  • Eligh had a follow up this week for his ear infection - he's all clear.  I would like to add, though, that the nurses commenting on how skinny and bony he is, is annoying and I will snap at you next time.
  • We switched the twins' rooms.  Kinsley now has the larger of their two rooms, but I'm still not happy with Eligh's room layout.
  • The changing table/dresser we have had for nearly five years will be leaving the house this evening.  It's broken and needs to go, but all three have used it and many clothes have been stored in it as well as many booties changed on it.
  • I am going to have to find a chiropractor soon.  Back pain that feels like it just needs to pop back into place is keeping me up at night and having all the kiddos sit on my back and walk on my back hasn't cured it.
  • I had my vein appointment this week, which requires it's own post.
  • The kids (except Addy who passed out on the couch) and the hubby and I were all up until midnight last night.  This.never.happens.  Neighbors came over and we played some card games while the kiddos played and watched some new movies.  Fun was had by all, and Eligh was so worn out he didn't wake until 9 (another first).  Girls were up at the same time as always, though.
  • Who is cooking Easter dinner for you?
  • Since Cody is working today, we are staying here this year and invited two families over.  Six adults and eight children.  I'm cooking the bulk of the meal, and they are all bringing a few sides and desserts over.  The kids will have a massive egg hunt after dinner and I'm super excited for the kiddos.

Friday Night Leftovers - end of March edition

  • I went to a JBF sale this week and left with two purchases.  It was definitely more for the babies than my tots.
  • I set up the twins to be screened for three year old prek.  Won't happen for a couple of months nor will we know anything for even longer.
  • I finally got the girls' dance pictures and it's some serious cuteness.
  • Kinsley had a follow up for her asthma and we are back to treating her for asthma and reflux.  I'm tired of these wait and see trials.
  • The foot doc wouldn't let me get another steroid shot because as she said, "It will just mask the pain."  Duh, that's what I want!  But, she did give me a brace to wear, instructions to always wear shoes (even at home), and new insoles.  I wore the brace that entire day and my foot has felt fine ever since.  I'm not going to wear shoes all day and putting the new insoles in gave me a blister on my "healthy" foot.
  • I ran 2.5 miles today outside on a trail through the woods that consisted of some pretty steep hills and an entire path of small gravel.  I ran the entire thing, not fast by any means, but I didn't stop once to walk.  Yes, I'm tooting my own horn.
  • Cody and I are attempting to grow flowers this year and have everything planted and watered.  My vegetable plants are awaiting to be transferred.
  • Addy had a couple rough days this week of being overly emotional that required quite a bit of tough love.
  • Eligh was not a fan of the mohawk daddy tried cutting for him, even though he thought he looked pretty good.  Now he is nearly bald and even though he wants to look like daddy, he keeps trying to pull his stubble to make it grow.
Go stop by our host, Danifred, and wish her Tot a Happy Birthday.

Friday Night Leftovers - sick + rain = crazy mommy

  • I keep a pretty clean, organized house from top to bottom.  It does need to be dusted, but overall my house is pretty damn clean (especially in comparison to some houses I have seen lately).
  • Why the beep do my children get sick all.the.damn.time?!
  • Just finished Addy sick last weekend, and then bam Eligh is sick.
  • I took him in for a rash around his ear and neck along with a complaint of his ear hurting, nothing else.  No fever, cold symptoms, NADA.  We leave with him being diagnosed with a DOUBLE ear infection.  WTF?!
  • Two hours after leaving the doc and getting meds we get home and deal with an over 104 fever, at one point it was nearing 106.  I was nearing panic mode.
  •  Yesterday he vomited twice and refused his meds.  Doc switched the meds.
  • Today he woke up with red bumps all over the back of his head, neck, back, shoulders and a low fever.  He didn't eat until lunch and threw up his entire dinner.
  • I also went to the doc for foot pain (same as last summer) which I'm hoping will include another steroid shot and I'll be good for another 10 months.  I also mentioned my two+ week cold, and left with three meds and a diagnosis of bronchitis.
  • On top of the crazy sick, it has rained nearly every single day this week.  I'm going to stir crazy and need to get out of this house ASAP!
  • Cody is working this Saturday along with many more Saturdays which just makes my weeks even longer.
  • This mommy is going crazy.
  • The end.
Hopefully if you click over to our host, Danifred, you will read something a little more uplifting.

Friday Night Leftovers - too tired edition

  • This week was Addy's spring break.
  • It started great and ended poorly.
  • The kids and I spent many days outside enjoying the weather.
  • Shorts and t-shirt weather in March.  What?!
  • I sorted through all the summer clothes and organized items to yard sale.
  • Yesterday morning Addy started vomiting all day.
  • She fell asleep around midnight.
  • We all woke up to a thunderstorm and two little ones climbing in the bed who we later moved to Eligh's room where they stayed.
  • Addy woke up screaming in pain again.  But, then I found a massive hive like rash on her face and neck.
  • Took her to the ER - eight hours later with three of those involving me juggling the twins and Addy at the same time and it is a virus that caused the hive.  Interesting.
  • Any way, I'm cross-eyed tired and still fighting a cold hopefully the weekend turns around.
Stop by our host, Danifred, to spread some love.

Friday Night Leftovers - Exploring

  • This week was full of exploring.  We visited three different play centers for the kids, yes, three.
  • We went to one jump place that irritated me all the way down to my toes.  There were way too many big, BIG kids shoving, trampling, and pushing my three much smaller children along with others out of their way.
  • Where were the parents?  Sitting on phones, iPads, you name it.  How about you put the device down for an hour to actually be engaged with your children and keep them under control!
  • There were several kids climbing on the top of the jumpies - ON THE TOP!
  • We left when Addy got a fat lip and punched in the ear.  We all had, had enough.
  • Going to any play center is only enjoyable during the week.  We were the only people at two of the places for a couple hours.
  • I really, really want a Color Nook - super bad.
  • Addyson is still obsessed with wearing her hair in two braids, and I have now mastered putting it in two french braids.  It looks so damn cute.
  • My children LOVE popcorn and just ate the last bag.
  • Eligh has now started screeching and telling daddy and mommy no.  I do not like this new "tough boy" behavior he is channeling.
  • Daddy told Eligh he was being sassy, and Eligh responded, "I am NOT being assy."
Come join in this week's leftovers by visiting our host, Danifred.
